We are now recruiting for 2024!

There are no academic prerequisites to join. Many of our ex-cadets who have pursued Civilian careers have benefitted from being a member. This is not only for those wishing to join the Armed Forces.

We provide a safe and secure environment in which young people can develop as individuals. All our members gain the sense of self worth, personal integrity, self discipline and increase their self confidence through the acquisition of skills and the achievement of goals.

The Air Training Corps is open to all physically fit youth between the ages of 13 and 15 years at the age of joining. The ATC offers so many more challenging activities than other similar organisations in New Zealand. Remember - joining ATC does not place you under any obligation to join the NZ Defence Force.

To join the Air Training Corps, you must meet the following criteria:

> Aged 13 - 15 (or be in Year 9);
> Be of sufficient health standard and physical fitness such that you are able to participate in the majority of the unit activities.

To see if the Air Training Corps is for you, come along to one of our parade nights. We parade on Wednesday nights from 1830 hrs (6:30 pm) until 2120 hrs (9:20 pm) at 43 Corsair Drive. For further information, please either email us (38sqn@cadetforces.com) or phone/text 027 38 CADET (22338). We will get back to you as soon as possible. You can also download a booklet outlining some important information for new cadets.

Our next intake is scheduled for February and March 2024. We will be running recruiting information evenings on 14 and 21 February 2024 so come along and check us out. Please bring your parent/caregiver with you so that they can see what our fantastic organisation has to offer as well.
